The Visegrad countries (the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia) account for over half of total government IT spending in the region.
With more than USD 2.20bn in government spending in play in 2011 and USD 2.35bn forecast for 2012, the stakes are high in the V4 government sector, IDC's expert Mark Yates said.
The three leading vendors - Asseco, HP and IBM - accounted for more than half of the revenue from the top 10 and more than a quarter of total IT spending in the government sector, the firm stressed.
