Blue-chip PKN Orlen invests in upstream several dozen million zloty

Blue-chip oil concern PKN Orlen has already invested several dozen million zloty in upstream projects in the framework of a five year plan, worth PLN 750mn, the firm's CFO Slawomir Jedrzejczyk said on Thursday.


The company is involved in two exploration projects in Poland: "Karbon", and "Sierakow" (together with PGNiG) and one project on the shelf of the Baltic Sea - "Kambr", together with Kuwait Energy Fund. 

At the end of last year, the company's CEO Jacek Krawiec announced that PKN Orlen, which improved its financial situation, was to increase its engagement in the oil extraction, and might in mid-2010 announce its participation in a specific extraction project.
