Gov't passes 2011 state budget draft with central deficit at PLN 40.2bn

The cabinet has preliminarily approved of the 2011 state budget draft on Friday, the government's press office has announced. The finance ministry's representatives have confirmed that its main parameters had remained unchanged.


Thus, the central budget's deficit limit was set at PLN 40.2bn (vs. preliminarily planned PLN 45.0bn), while this year's realization of the gap would be lowered to PLN 48.3bn from the budget law-envisaged PLN 52.2bn. GDP growth is estimated at 3.5%, the average annual inflation at 2.3%, the end-year registered unemployment rate - 9.9%.

According to the Rzeczpospolita daily, the budget will be based on the assumption that privatization revenue bring PLN 15bn, while dividends - the record-high level of PLN 9.2bn.

The document will now be subject to consultations with the so-called tripartite commission, consisting of representatives of the government, employers' and employees' organizations.
