Multimedia Polska interested in market peer Aster

Triple-play services provider Multimedia Polska might be interested in taking over multi-play peer Aster according to its CEO.


"We are looking at the process [related to the sale of Aster], we are looking at the firm," MP's Andrzej Rogowski told reporters today, adding that no offer to sell was made by Aster, nor had his firm carried out due diligence.

In earlier statements Rogowski was sceptical about the possibility of taking over Aster owing to the firm's heavy debts.

"[On one hand] it is a very good firm on a very good market, but the buyer has to take the firm's debt level into consideration," he said.

Telekomunikacja Polska (TPSA) earlier said that it is interested in buying Aster.

Multimedia Polska reported revenue of PLN 138.13mn (EUR 33.2mn) and net profit of PLN 21.45mn (EUR 5.2mn) in Q1/2010.
