Oil firm Grupa Lotos cuts costs by PLN 252.5mn thanks to anti-crisis scheme in 2009

The country's second-biggest oil concern, blue chip Grupa Lotos decreased costs by PLN 252.5mn due to a realization of "anti-crisis package," the company said in a communiqué on Thursday. Additionally, the value of suspended or abandoned investments in 2009, amounted to PLN 470.1mn.


In November, the company's CEO Pawel Olechnowicz said that Grupa Lotos exceeded in 2009 the assumed value of savings in the range of the anticrisis package. He added then that by the end of October, the company conducted PLN 455mn savings.

In Q1-4/2009, the company posted PLN 883.30mn of consolidated net profit vs. PLN 453.91mn loss a year earlier on the revenue of PLN 14320.53mn vs. PLN 16294.74mn respectively.
