PGE to announce tender for 960 MW bloc at Turow plant by end-year

The country's biggest power group PGE plans to announce a tender for the construction of a 960 MW power bloc, fueled by lignite, in its Elektrownia Turow power plant by the end of this year, PGE’s deputy head Wojciech Topolnicki said on Thursday.


Initially, PGE planned to announce the tender in August.

After the completed modernization, Elektrownia Turow has a capacity of 2,106 MW, as the plant said on its website. The Turow plant's share in the domestic energy system is about 7%.
