Slovenia's biggest insurer Triglav wants to debut on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE, even though it is already listed on the Ljubljana bourse, according to statements of the insurer's president during the Economic Forum in Davos, retold by Olgierd Dziekonski, a minister from the Presidential Chancellery.

He argued that Triglav is seeing the double listing as a means to strengthen its investment position, as reported by the Newseria service.

Triglav now owns around 40% of Slovenia's privatized assets. In 2011, Triglav's supervisory board agreed for a share issue to be directed at WSE, but in October, the insurer abandoned these plans citing the worsening of financial markets' situation as the reason. Triglav is still 62%-owned by the Slovenian treasury.
