If lucky to catch one of the warm Warsaw summer nights, one can sit just in the Gar’s small garden, located along the Jasna street. Still sitting inside is an inspiring experience, as the interiors provide a great mixture of styles - bit classy, bit rich, bit charming, bit cozy - just a right dose of each to create relaxing, elegant, but not snobbish or stiff atmosphere.
The selection of food that the restaurant offers and I can recommend, upon trying it with my own taste buds, includes delicious Cherry livers with fresh coriander (PLN 28), Foie Gras parfait prepared on madeira and quince compote (PLN 38), Black pork ribs with honey and bean sauce served in Gar (PLN 45) and to close my meal Bailey’s and mascarpone mousse with fresh raspberry (PLN 29). All really surpassed my expectations and I can recommend as an excellent choice.
Being at Gar restaurant, it is a kind of must to take a main dish prepared in Gar, as Gar is a Polish word for kind of a small cauldron in which selected meals are served.
Also the service deserves a great distinction making the guests feeling home in this splendid interior while providing great and professional treatment, at the same time.
Gar offers also a great location for Warsaw night explorers. Coming here on Friday or Saturday evening, is a good starting place for the rest of the night, as it is located within walking distance from some of the most fashionable Warsaw clubs.
Visiting Gar was a really pleasant culinary experience also welcoming to forget about time and to relax being surrounded by charming interiors and nice music.
