To the south it opens up into Krakowskie Przedmiescie, which is a part of the Royal Route leading from the Royal Castle to the royal summer residence of the Wilanow Palace and Park.

You can see here street artists and several open-air concerts are taking place here mainly during the summer time.

The Castle Square is the emblem of Warsaw, where political demonstrations are organized and where the Varsovians greet the New Year.
